It Happened Again

A list of some fatal shootings at U.S. schools in recent years:

-- Oct. 2, 2006: A gunman took about a dozen girls hostage, killing at least three of them, at a one-room Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County, police said. The shooter was among the dead, and a number of people were injured.
-- Sept. 29, 2006: 15-year-old Eric Hainstock brought two guns to a school in rural Cazenovia, Wis., and fatally shot the principal, a day after the principal gave him a disciplinary warning for having tobacco on school grounds, police said.
-- Sept. 27, 2006: Duane Morrison, 53, took six girls hostage at Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, Colo. Morrison, sexually assaulting them and using them as human shields for hours before fatally shooting one girl and killing himself.
-- Aug. 24, 2006: Christopher Williams, 27, went to an elementary school in Essex, Vermont, looking for his ex-girlfriend, a teacher. He couldn't find her and fatally shot one teacher and wounded another, police said. Williams also killed his ex-girlfriend's mother, according to authorities. He shot himself twice in the head after the rampage and was arrested.

Thats right four have happend in the past 2 months, this spike is almost amazing.... what's next, why so many in a row.

Violence in america is amazing. Watch the Histroy of Violence for a good example.

Day that never happened.

Yesterday's plans were to get dressed get a ride from some friends then go to the Homestead Homecoming Dance... that never happened.

2pm recieve phone call from some of my ski crew down in Milwaukee, so I roll down to there, basically roaming the northside with no plan in mind, it was fun and mellow and i got some sick shots on my camera, (below)

After that we went urban scouting out in the west suburbs, filled up the jetta with snow, and hit some hand rails, unfortunately my camera battery was beat and decided not to work for this well... not so epic session, but still the first exposure to skiing in wisconsin this fall. Ya...

Anyways, back to all these High School attacks, it was reported that a man with a gun broke into a Vermont school, looking for his ex-girlfriend (a teacher). So far in the school year (since aug 1) across america there have already been 17 non fatal school shootings ( compared to 54 in TOTAL last school year). It will be intresting to see the reaction of my school especially since we all live in the same state as two of the four threats/attacks.

Wisconsin Is Weird

I don't know if you guys have heard about it in Boston, but as me and my fellow Wisconsites ( sometimes it still freaks me out that i live in wisconsin too!) But this afternoon, there was another threat at a Wisconsin High School, this time it the plan was followed through. North of Madison (note: Capital of Wis, home of UW) in Cazanovia
There was a school shooting. A former student (expelled student actually) sought revenge on the principal of Weston High School. The Shooter told students that "They Better Run" before the shooting took place. The Principal was shot 3 times and later died in a hospital yesterday evening. The School was in the same celebration as we were at Homestead, it was homecoming weekend, and the homecoming game was just hours away, Needless to say these events were cancelled.

Not Only is this the Second Wisconsin High School Scandal in the past month it is the second High School shooting this week. What is causing this peak in Violence in America?

It seems news is different in Wisconsin, compared to Massachusetts. Massachusetts news was very politically based, there were more storeis about waht teh governor was doing, and how the daily meetings at the house went (and of course 3 daily stories on the big dig.) In wisconsin news is widely based on the If it bleeds, It leads newscast. usually the first story is on the shootings in Milwaukee's north side, or a scandal where this happens. I ask myself Why? Is it because this happens more in wisconsin? Are wisconsin politics boring? Does the Republicans having control of state senate have an effect on this? Someone watch Channel 4 in boston for me tonight, and tell me how many shooting stories, you see... and comment back to me.

New blog. New Flava. (ya i spelt it that way)

Word, So im making a blog again, mostly because the fall has proven to be pretty uneventful, It feels like school never stopped this summer, so im still thinking that summer is around the corner it's weird eh? Anyways Snow is only 1.5 months away which means ski season 2007 will be underway, can't come soon enough (i've been on a ski haitus since January when my ski decided to not release on me.)

This Season is gonna be pretty rad though, Deject Clothing is really going smooth, we are ordering more and more gear everyday, and soon enough our Jersey's are gonna be here. Deject is something near and dear to my heart, not only is it just another "hey dude, lets make a company and market it on newschoolers" its a statement to America's mainstream media. The Definiton of Deject is to look down upon someone. Basically most major clothing comapnies (AE, A&F, Hollister etc.) are looking down upon you when they only recruit their emplyees (by look), or even in thier marketing campaigns. Well we have decided to Deject them, and make clothing that is freedom of expression, and we don't care who wears it, as long as you are repping it up. We make all our clothing in American and when possible try to avoid using sweatshop clothing, Most of our t-shirts will be printed on American Apparel shirts (A L.A. based comapany that is sweatshop free). So Let's all the Deject the major Clothing Labels.

Also this season i plan on finnally making my ski film "The Area Code" so far I have booked my trips to Utah, Colorado, Cali, Mass, Vt, And Duluth to film with the Local "Crews" in the areas then edit all their expierences into a location besed semi-documentary ski film. check out our progress at www.ghettocandies.com

So Ya, Im rambling Starbucks after the football game may not have been that smart. Stay Tuned.
